Is A New iPhone On Its Way? By Larry Jung

Is A New iPhone On Its Way?
By Larry Jung

Apple has not indicated how often they plan to update their hot selling iPhone, however there is major rumors that a new iPhone is on it's way, it might be as early as this summer. As with every rumor, many details emerge with only the consumer being able to decide for themselves if they are willing to accept the details or to steer it away as just being someones wild imagination. Some say that the design for the new iPhone has leaked, however many dismiss it as being unlikely.

Why should Apple need to update their iPhone, when their iPhone is a record hot selling cell phone, and is keeping strong in sales for almost a year? The answer is Wall Street.

At the announcement of the iPhone by Apple's Steve Jobs, Steve has raised expectations too high by specifying Apple's target of selling 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. Now even though Apple announced in January of this year that since its launch of the iPhone on June 29 and up to mid-January, it had sold 4 million iPhones, most analysts were expecting a number more like 5 million.

So even though the iPhone has been far more successful than anyone should have expected, since Apple has over estimated at it's launch it has caused shares to stumble.

However, Apple's Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer has announced in Jan. of 2008 that Apple is still "feeling confident" about reaching its goal of 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. The question is, how will Apple do it?

New markets is very unlikely to help the dilemma, since Apple has already targeted the global market in the past, not leaving any room for further expansion. Now the only market left aside by Apple in the past was China. However, the iPhone is too expensive for China and, besides, China has already got a bunch of iPhone counterfeit clones for Apple to compete with.

The next option would be new prices, however, although lowering prices will increase sales, analysts are skeptical if will get Apple to their 10 million goal, since it is highly unlikely that cheapskate holdouts will out-buy the Apple fans and gadget freaks who already own iPhones.

So the only way Apple could possibly feel "confident" of reaching 10 million units by the end of 2008 is if the company were to sell more iPhones during next year's holiday season than it did during the 2007 season. And the only way to do that is to sell to existing users. And the only way to do that is to come out with a new iPhone.

Discover the Ins and Outs of Top iPhone Clones By Roberto Sedycias

Discover the Ins and Outs of Top iPhone Clones
By Roberto Sedycias

Recently the iPhone clones have become the talk of the town, but most of us are not quite sure what exactly an iPhone clone is. In that case let us take a brief insight into the iPhone clones that are definitely giving the real Apple products a run for their money!! Now that these devices have become a part of the industry standard, many of the mobile companies are desperately trying to flawlessly mimic the features and looks of the original product.

This is a clever step on their part to boost the market value of their economical imitations so that they come in par with the other strong competitions in the market.

However, it is generally observed that people usually tag all phones with a huge touchscreen and multi-touch display as an iPhone clone without even trying to understand that the phone can at times be even more innovative than the original product.

Though it has been more than often seen that the popular iPhone clones are generally from China and are typically of a poor quality.

Interestingly, even some popular companies have also come up with some models that look exactly like the iPhones and include some features that are even a shade better than the originals.

There are various ways in which we can decide upon the top 5 iPhone clones. If we view it on a broader spectrum, the list will first include the Samsung Instinct. This iPhone look-alike has GPS facility and the data transfer here is faster than its original counterpart.

The second in the list is undoubtedly the Sony Xyperia. This iPhone clone is definitely one of the most stylish and much awaited phones of the year. Just like the iPhone it has a wide-screen display with touchscreen facility.

Next in the row is unquestionably the Deeda Pi, popularly called the ultimate iPhone clone. It is one phone that claims more than 95% imitation of the original product. Another clone of the Apple product is the LG Voyager. This smartphone uses a similar menu organization and even has an analogous dock on the bottom screen.

These features bring it quite close to the original iPhone rating it fourth in the clone list. Finally, the discussion remains incomplete without mentioning the latest iPhone clone CiPhone-i88i. This Chinese product is an exact replica of the iPhone 3G, but only design wise. The phone lacks the 3G wireless network facility of the original product.

While talking of the iPhone clones, it would be unfair if we do not discuss the popular Chinese products that are the true imitators of the Apple iPhones. The products are named precisely as IPhon, ILeaf, Tphone, miniOne from Meizu, C-002, iPhone Nano, CECT P168, CECT T5 T32, Cool999, EPhone, LiPhone and so on.

Of these, the IPhon looks very similar to the iPhone 3G while the ILeaf is a very poor clone of the original device. The C-002 is almost a complete iPhone clone with a good market value. The iPhone Nano is called so because it looks like an iPhone but is of the size of the iPod Nano.

Most of these phones share the common features of an iPhone like 5 separate keys for all basic operations, around dozen speakers that give surround sound facility, 1.3 mega pixel camera and dual SIM support to name just a few.

However, since most of us like to go for branded products, it is advisable that we check the phones thoroughly before buying them. One major point of identification is the Apple logo that is found only on the original device. This will save us from all kinds of frauds and will also help us to get the product of our personal choice.

A88 - Among The Newest Dual Sim iPhone Clones With Shake And Tilt Technology By Rae Edwards

A88 - Among The Newest Dual Sim iPhone Clones With Shake And Tilt Technology
By Rae Edwards

There's little controversy that China's iPhone clones were a runaway success. Not only did the iClones very convincingly copy iPhone technology, they actually changed the technology with a few improvements that have stuck.

First, the Chinese clones added a removable battery and surround sound speakers and these features were much appreciated. But the bonuses which ensured these phones would sell long after the iPhone frenzy died down was the slide unlock feature, the dual sim (two phone numbers) feature, and the new shake and tilt feature. These three things have ensured that these phones are no longer considered fly by night knock offs and are here to stay.

The A88 is among the newest of the shake and tilt iClones. With this new technology, when you want to change the songs, wallpaper, video or photos, you simply gently shake the phone. You don't have to look down or even bother to scroll. Also, when you are watching video or viewing photos or media, if you want to change the phone to wide screen, you only have to tilt it.

Like the clones that inspired it, the A88 has full smartphone features like an oversized touchscreen with finger touch as well as the ability to surf the web, email, and text, as well as full MP3/ MP4 capabilities, and a built in web cam and digital camera. The picture on this phone is crystal clear and the vibrating speakers produce an amazing sound.

Price wise, the A88 is usually less than $150 if you know where to look. Here's a tip. The A88 and the HiPhone or HiPhone i32 are really one in the same. However, the term HiPhone is more widely used and therefore usually more expensive. Buying this phone under the term A88 usually means that you will pay less for it.

Is it Worth Buying iPhone Clones From China By Miles Poon

Is it Worth Buying iPhone Clones From China
By Miles Poon

There are at least 10 models now on the market that claim to be iphone-style or iphone lookalikes. The first inspiration dated back at least a years ago, when the CECT P168 hit the market. It was the time apple's product was still in the making, and the whole world waited for the official release in 2007. But the Chinese consumers were already holding the lookalikes in their hands well before then. Interesting.

The lookalikes were nothing but lookalikes. It is not a smartphone. It's a PDA phone at most. No java, no wifi, no double finger enlarging... However there's one thing good about it - it's cheap (around US$200) and it is unlocked. You can insert any GSM SIM card. The battery is replaceable too.

Not a year passed when an upgraded lookalike made history in February 2008 - and it had a name, called "hiphone". It also went under the CECT brand, but apparently there's a dozen of "assemblers" sharing the same tooling because some are better quality than others. The local market in China heated up with the iphone cloning.

Just how close could these clones get to the real thing? I believe I have seen that the lookalikes finally graduated in to smartphones. Read the full specs at http://www.hiphoneshop.com/product_info.php?cPath=4&products_id=5 It's wifi ready, it's running Windows Mobile operating system (imagine that!) and it's fully loaded with features. Sadly not affordable any more either. Price tag says US$370 or something like that.

If you browse through the website you will find a complete category called iphone style that shows at least 10 models, including funny names like Nphone and Ciphone. Most are still without operating system though.

iPhone Cect P168 - China's Improvement On iPhone Technology By Rae Edwards

iPhone Cect P168 - China's Improvement On iPhone Technology
By Rae Edwards

The iPhone undoubtedly started a technological revolution and began a love affair with touch screens on mobile phones. However, most people are not as in love with the iPhone's price nor with the required high-priced AT&T contract that comes with an iPhone. With the IPhone you are forced to contract with AT&T for your wireless service. Very basic service is about $100 per month.

Enter China's CECT P168 iClone. CECT has taken the technology of the iPhone and improved upon it - so much so that Popular Science magazine calls CECT the "real deal".

The CECT P168 looks so much like the original iPhone you have to nearly squint to tell the difference. Plus, the CECT P168 offers all of the features of the iPhone plus bonus features. The P168 has three more speakers than the iPhone plus a removable battery. The P168 allows you to use whatever participating carrier you like (even your current provider). With an iPhone, you have the phone to an authorized dealer when the battery runs dead.

Further, the CECT P168 runs under $120 - sometimes as low as $100. This phone offers the features most people want - the touch screen, the ability to surf the web or watch videos, Bluetooth, and MP3 capabilities, without worrying about how to pay for all of it.

The iClone CECT P168 doesn't require any software. The phone will automatically recognize your network, phone book, and personal settings.

With features on par with (and in some cases better) than the iPhone at only a fraction of the price, the CECT P168 may well be a great way to enjoy the latest technology while waiting both for prices on the iPhone to trickle down and for Apple to catch on and add some of the features that CECT is known for.
